20 Things about Scott
People chose to work with people. People they KNOW, LIKE and TRUST. Often we do this by researching people, asking them questions, asking other people about them etc. For those of you wondering what this Scott Donald character is all about, I am going to save you some trouble.
For your information and amusement:
I have 30+ years of sales and sales leadership experience in several industries. My gray hair is earned.
After two more recent positions I worked in were eliminated, I decided to go out on my own and be my own boss. It's awesome, however team building events and office Holiday parties are kind of boring.
Sometime I wear pj pants while I work. From home. Not when I go out.
Being able to give back and help sales professionals and leaders evolve and get 'even better' at what they do is super gratifying.
I believe the 70's was best decade in music. Don't even argue...
I have learned ALOT from my past failures and often stubborn ineffectiveness. Don't wait as long as I did to commit to professional development and getting 'more better'.
I love working/collaborating with like-minded people. Surround yourself with positive people who will challenge and encourage you
I learned too late about the importance of intentional professional development. Start now. (if you haven't already)
I think I am funny. Most clients do as well, I think. Mrs. Donald DOES NOT.
I walk my dog 2x day. It's good exercise AND it's also when I do my best thinking
I have grown the most when I was in positions where I felt in over my head. Like right now
The more I learn, the more I realize that I have a lot to learn
I love sci-fi movies. If I was an Avenger, I would probably be The Hulk (for obvious reasons)
My energy comes from working with people. Especially those open to getting 'more better'.
I could have been a hockey goalie in the NHL...but apparently I wasn't 'good enough'.
I have a constant internal dialog of 'you can't do this' and 'yah, I can do this'. Usually 'you can do this' is winning but depends on the moment.
I think ice cream is awesome.
Every time I finish a training or coaching session and someone tells me they learned a lot and thanks me for my help, I am overwhelmed with a rush of awesomeness. It feels good. REALLY good.
Riding my motorcycle on a beauty day while listening to tunes (70's music but other stuff too) is the best thing ever. Also, another time get what I think are great ideas.
I am an open book. What you see is what you get. So for many people, they already knew most of these points.
There you go. The mystery of Scott!
